Traveler’s World appears to be a former KOA campground. The owner tells me that his in-laws purchased it and completely cleaned it up to make it the best campground in Clovis (accordingly to yearly votes). We left our previous place after one night because there wasn’t any place to walk the dogs and this place has it in spades. They have mowed down and treated the weeds in wide swaths all around the park so there is plenty of green space to keep the pooches happy.
Although no designated off-leash dog park, I did speak with one young airman out one evening throwing the tennis ball for his little terrier and there was enough green space for the dog to be safe even off leash. There are also doggie potty stations throughout the park.
I believe this park has permanent clientele in at least 50% of the sites but it was so clean and well kept that it differed from the usual full-time RV parks that you see. I had a wonderful corner spot for two nights with lots of grass for the dogs and would be happy to book this spot again for a long-term stay. The laundry room is modern and clean with chairs, books, and magazines, about $2.50 a load, depending on your drying time.
There is a small park store with a well-stocked ice cream cooler. The pints are less than $2.50 each and they have many varieties. It was very tempting to stock up but I didn’t. I just bought one pint of Bride’s Cake flavor to go with my root beer.
Rates were very reasonable at about $30 a night with a Good Sam discount. They also have weekly and monthly rates.
